Evo is a group of musicians, widely experienced in the fields of Early and roots music (L'Ham de Foc, Els Trobadors, Aman Aman, Capella de Ministrers, Oni Wytars, Ross Daly & Labyrinth...) who have dedicated this new project exclusively to Medieval music.

The group is directed by Efren López but also composed of Miriam Encinas, Diego López, Ivan López, Pau Marcos and Robert Cases.

Efrén López, multi-instrumentalist in the group plays hurdy-gurdy , lutes , harps, marine horn, shofar, harp, percussions … He was the founder of the popular Valencian world music and folk group L' Ham de Foc and also of others such as Aman Aman or Trio Petrakis /López /Chemirani , and contributor to many others in the field of Early and root musci (Ross Daly, Capella de Ministrers , Maria Laffitte, Oni Wytars …).

He approaches the medieval repertoire from the study of modal music from the hand of great masters of Greece, Turkey , Afghanistan and India (Ross Daly, Necati Çelik, Erol Parlak, Daud Khan, M. Rahim Khusnawaz, Yurdal Tokcan… ). His arrangements, taking the medieval historical basis, provide a vibrant and dynamic character in the chosen repertoire.

In recent years Efrén has collaborated with ancient European formations and instrumental music as ONI Wytars (Germany ), Via Artis Konsor , the Cretan lyre interpreter Kelly Thoma, the Yeden Quartet, with Stelios Petrakis and Bijan Chemirami…

He also develops a work training at Mas de Flors, giving modal music workshops and inviting teachers from Iran, Greece and Afghanistan. He also works as a professor at the Berklee College of Music in Valencia and continues teaching through seminars at The Labyrinth, music school directed by Ross Daly in Crete, and at the Khatawat Centre in Italy.
