Ortiga is an artistic collective based in Banyoles (Catalonia) that was created in 2016. Its work aims to provide spaces where meeting, gathering and artistic creation can coexist, and where to research, spread and awaken environmental and social awareness.
Ortiga currently devoted to performing shows, creating immersive experiences, educational projects, courses and actions within their region, and also at festivals, cultural programs, in collaboration with social and environmental projects and in schools, both at a national and international level.
Their variety of artistic proposals seek to make culture accessible to everyone in a participatory, decentralized way. They create contexts and places in where to experience, imagine and investigate from intimacy and sensitivity. Places where people can discover new paths for the regeneration of the habitat and the social local network, all within an interdisciplinary and intergenerational framework.
Art, with its symbolic potential, can open up the necessary emotions to redo and invent new collective imaginaries, which are vital for an ecological and social awareness.
