This summer, El Patio Teatro is placing a special focus on France, where the company will present Entrañas at two of the country’s leading puppet festivals. After its French premiere at MIMA 2024, Entrañas will be staged at the renowned RéciDives Festival in Dives-sur-Mer on July 11–12.

Later this summer, Entrañas will also be part of the 23rd Festival Mondial des Théâtres de Marionnettes in Charleville-Mézières — the world’s largest gathering of puppetry artists and the leading international reference for contemporary puppet theatre.

With Entrañas (Insides), El Patio Teatro invites audiences to a unique, intimate anatomy class where they expose themselves to the interior of the human body. Through object theatre and narrative, they pose questions to unravel some of its mysteries, transforming the stage into a delicate game and a brief anatomy lesson that looks inside us all.

In addition to these French dates, El Patio Teatro will continue touring Europe with A Mano in Santarém, Portugal (July 24–25). They will also appear at several venues in Spain: Entrañas on August 4 at the 14th Festival de Títeres de las Merindades in Salazar; and Feriantes on August 28 as part of the Patron Saint’s Day celebrations in Casas Ibáñez.

The post El Patio Teatro takes Entrañas to RéciDives and the world’s biggest puppet festival in Charleville first appeared on Ikebanah.

Five of our productions have been selected for inclusion in the 2025–2026 PLATEA programme, a national performing arts initiative promoted by INAEM (Spain’s National Institute of Performing Arts and Music). This selection includes object theatre, documentary theatre, immersive experiences, and contemporary dance for early childhood. These are unique and acclaimed works that have been featured at leading festivals across Spain — and here’s a closer look.

Among the most celebrated is AN-KI, by Cia. Ortiga, an immersive experience inside a tent that blends puppetry and visual theatre to address deforestation and the impact of humankind on Earth. This production has received numerous accolades, including Best Show at FETEN 2024, Best Family Show at both the 2024 Catalan Critics Awards and the 2023 Mostra d’Igualada, and multiple awards at the 2022 Lleida Puppet Fair, including Best Show, and the National Jury, International Jury, and Street Arts Awards.

Among the most celebrated is AN-KI, by Cia. This piece of documentary and object theatre pays homage to the people who have spent their lives bringing joy and wonder to towns and cities across the country. It was awarded Best Documentary Theatre Show at FETEN 2025 and Best Set Design at the Fira de Titelles de Lleida 2024.

FLORes, by Milímetro and performed by Patricia Ruz, is a delicate piece of dance and colour for early childhood audiences. The show explores the many ways of expressing the soul that lives within flowers, unfolding like a moving canvas filled with music, rhythm, and emotion.

FLORes, by Milímetro and performed by Patricia Ruz, is a delicate piece of dance and colour for early childhood audiences.
