Five Ikebanah productions selected for Spain’s PLATEA 2025–2026 programme

Five of our productions have been selected for inclusion in the 2025–2026 PLATEA programme, a national performing arts initiative promoted by INAEM (Spain’s National Institute of Performing Arts and Music). This selection includes object theatre, documentary theatre, immersive experiences, and contemporary dance for early childhood. These are unique and acclaimed works that have been featured at leading festivals across Spain — and here’s a closer look.

Among the most celebrated is AN-KI, by Cia. Ortiga, an immersive experience inside a tent that blends puppetry and visual theatre to address deforestation and the impact of humankind on Earth. This production has received numerous accolades, including Best Show at FETEN 2024, Best Family Show at both the 2024 Catalan Critics Awards and the 2023 Mostra d’Igualada, and multiple awards at the 2022 Lleida Puppet Fair, including Best Show, and the National Jury, International Jury, and Street Arts Awards.

The third production, FERIANTES, is a co-production by El Patio Teatro and Spain’s Centro Dramático Nacional. This piece of documentary and object theatre pays homage to the people who have spent their lives bringing joy and wonder to towns and cities across the country. It was awarded Best Documentary Theatre Show at FETEN 2025 and Best Set Design at the Fira de Titelles de Lleida 2024.

FLORes, by Milímetro and performed by Patricia Ruz, is a delicate piece of dance and colour for early childhood audiences. The show explores the many ways of expressing the soul that lives within flowers, unfolding like a moving canvas filled with music, rhythm, and emotion.
