FLORes is a dance piece infused with tenderness and beauty, exploring different ways of expressing the soul that lives within flowers. It unfolds like a colourful landscape through a series of moving tableaux filled with music, rhythm, and emotion.

The stage becomes a canvas that opens like flowers do — those small, fragrant forms of life that remind us how different, fragile, and strong we can be all at once. It is an outward journey that blossoms inside a woman.

The piece is inspired by paintings by Emilia Román, Patricia Ruz’s 95-year-old mother, and by Emilia’s discovery of her deep connection with flowers. These paintings are the result of their encounters and the relationship they built through painting as a way to communicate.

The performance starts from one of Emilia’s flower paintings, where the flowers themselves become the dramaturgy and the thread guiding the journey — a poetic space between colour and dance. It weaves together different movement styles that paint this scenic space, merging contemporary dance, Spanish dance, tap, and object work.
