3 hours – running time of installation
8 minutes – playing time of audience in each little theatre
In 5 little theatres 5 stories of Shakespeare are staged in only 8 minutes of duration each!
The spectator behind the box-theatre is going to receive instructions through the headphones and is going to move the objects following the instructions without knowing why he/she does what he/she is doing.
The spectators who are in front of the box-theatre watching the show are enjoying a work of Shakespeare through the headphones. The story becomes real thanks to the movements of the “actor”. This is a show very difficult to explain, but very funny to perform!
“MicroShakespeare (…) loosens up the plays’ relationship to the original texts, our own notions about Shakespearean performance, and the audience-performer dynamic. But more than any of that, it’s just very, very fun. To be honest, if the bard was still about, I reckon he’d quite like Macbeth performed with cutlery.”
Flossie Waite | Children’s Theatre Reviews
“’So good!‘; ‘Yes, definitely!’; ‘And what’s more, we had headphones’; ‘The story was good too!’; ‘We even ate popcorn!’. (…) MicroShakespeare revisits the world of theatre by giving it new dimensions.”
Le Dauphiné Libéré
“(…) There is no lack of humour, love, intrigue, death, revenge, popcorn, the audience turned into actors and plenty of applause.”
