In Esberlar, three characters find themselves prevented from continuing to abide by the rules that have accompanied them until now. They lead us through transitory images of crumbling, instability and the reconstruction of what has been broken.

In a humorous way, they will talk to us about limits, those imposed on us and those we impose on ourselves. A physical and gestural journey guided by the emotions of the concept of fracture.

With this work, L’Atapeïda is committed to a street piece that relates to and draws creatively from its surroundings.

[In catalan, “esberlar” means to break something right where it offers less resistance]

“They set up the stage with the help of an audience that they call out one by one, children and adults helping to unfold and fix the ends of each carpet (…) You never get bored. (….) It’s together that these three characters work best, the harmony of bodies clutching each other through their shirts, doing human tricks or turning against each other to avoid the burning floor. But they also fall gracefully. Because, as the beautiful song to which they dance at the end of the show says, you can’t live without stumbling.”

“A piece of physical theatre and dance on almost magic carpets. Simple, tender and very well done: sometimes all you need is a good idea and talented performers.”
