PanicMap is a performing arts platform founded and led by the stage director, playwright and researcher on digital media settings for the performing arts,
Juan Pablo Mendiola with
Margarita Burbano in 2012. As artistic director, Mendiola develops his most personal works.
PanicMap is committed to innovation, articulating the narrative, the body, the space and the digital media in the performing arts. It continuously researches to integrate the digital arts into the stage creation and as a consequence a recognizable own language emerges that forces the limits of the theatrical experience.
The artistic works of PanicMap invites audiences to dive into intriguing worlds, where the graphic and poetic universe work together to tell real stories; dramaturgies of our time that question the identity of the today's human being.
With each new artistic work, PanicMap decides to enter the abyss, betting on an idea and starting an exciting research process.
Together with
Juan Pablo Mendiola, the different creators involved in the project: performers, dancers, composers, graphic designers, digital artists and researchers from different areas, open a creative dialogue always in continuous evolution.
Mendiola draws a map, unique and different for each project. Research and creation go through these cartographies of multiple findings that turn the creations, either those aimed to adult audiences or to early childhood, into inspiring and unique experiences.
