Professionally dedicated to the puppet theater since 1989, Periferia Teatro is founded by Juan Manuel Quiñonero Redondo and Mariso García Ferrández, who simultaneously share acting and directing tasks.
Along this 32 years, they have created and told stories with puppets using very diverse techniques, showing that this genre is still more alive than ever and that it is an excellent means to reach directly the soul of the spectator, both children and adults who accompany them.
The company is actively engaged in the study and research of puppet theater, looking for new forms of communication in each new show. It is part of UNIMA (International Puppet Union). It also belongs to the TeVeo association of children's theater and Murciaescena, association of theater companies of Murcia.
In recent years, the company Periferia Teatro has been able to present its latest shows, "Pingüin", "Pocosueño", "Guyi-Guyi", "Traces", "Fly feathers" and "Cloud Cloud" all around Spain and in several countries in the world . The national and international awards they have received, as well as the aid received from INAEM, AECID, Instituto Cervantes and the ICA of Murcia, have greatly helped in the consolidation and projection of the company.
They have translated mostly of their shows into Catalan, English and French and have toured internationally over Mexico, India, Japan, USA, Colombia, Belgium, Chile, France, Taiwan…, where they could verify that the laughter of a child is universal and that the art of the Puppet Theater is present everywhere in the world, manifesting in varied and multiple forms.
